Studio

In our Studio we offer Barre, Yoga and Strength classes. It's a personal space with no more than 10/12 in a class. After your class and all of your hard work, feel free to sit, chat and enjoy a complimentary coffee or tea with each other in our peaceful courtyard or around our bar.

Hi! I'm Floss. An experienced yoga & yoga philosophy teacher. A human, on this journey, just like you. In my classes, we activate the imagination through practice, meditation, movement and visualisation to deepen our connection to the body—making anatomy come alive from the inside out.​ Inspired by the Franklin Method and these premodern traditions, my embodied approach invites you to feel the body’s subtleties through sensation, energy, and rhythm—including through exploring the bandhas, yoga’s deep energetic locks that support inner strength and grace.

Yoga with Rachel

Rachel was drawn to yoga while working as a solicitor, discovering it as the perfect way to calm her mind and re-energise her body after a busy day. She believes yoga is for everyone, and that its holistic nature helps us connect with our body, mind, and authentic self. Rachel’s classes focus on building strength, improving flexibility, and fostering emotional and mental clarity through postures (asana), breath work (pranayama), and relaxation (savasana). For Rachel, yoga goes far beyond the mat—it’s a pathway to greater harmony and presence in today’s fast-paced world.

THURSDAY
ALIGN & FLOW ~ 6.30 pm – 7.30pm
The class begins with a grounding pranayama (breathing) practice, followed by gentle stretches to open the body. You will then move through a flowing vinyasa sequence, and conclude with a calming guided relaxation. Perfect for cultivating balance, presence, and inner peace

Rosie’s Barre

Having originally trained to teach Lotte Berk (viewed by many as the original barre), Rosie’s classes focus strongly on technique and her commitment to ensuring that her clients maintain good posture and alignment throughout. Rosie will teach you how to target muscles you never knew you had,  helping you achieve the strongest, leanest version of yourself.  With over 11 years experience of teaching Lotte and Barre at Esse, Rosie has a loyal client base, and teaches beginners and seasoned barre goers alike. Using her extensive range of exercises and great  playlists, you will leave Rosie’s class walking taller, feeling energised and knowing that you have challenged your body and worked hard.

Barre with Sarah

Sarah has a soft and patient nature and teaches a precise class with a gentle approach.  She gives emphasis to procuring an accurate barre technique, with each exercise carefully designed to maximise core strength, cultivate strong dynamic and static posture, and to elongate and shape the limbs. Her students are encouraged to focus on intentional movement where the mind and body truly connect.  Sarah has a Jazz ballet background and a love of music which she reflects in her creative teaching methods and motivating classes. Sarah has been part of the Esse barre team for nearly two years.

Deni has been a Personal Trainer and qualified Sports Massage Therapist for over 10 years, she specialises in postural assessment correction. Deni's classes are ideal for those looking to improve posture, strengthen and sculpt their body, her classes will help increase mobility whilst toning muscle and building stamina. A fun energetic way to get firm and feel better.

A class designed to improve your body strength and burn fat. It is a low weight, high repetition, barbell-based workout that’s specifically designed to help you get lean, toned and fit. It is suitable for everyone. If you are new to weight training, the difficulty can be easily adapted by starting with lower weights on the bar. This group class will help you achieve much more than if you were training on your own.

BODY RESET

A full body strength workout that focuses on toning your legs, glutes, arms and core. This class is designed to fix movement compensations and imbalance of the muscles by using resistance bands, lighter weight, and your own body weight. The exercises can be adapted to suit all levels of fitness and ability, no prior experience is necessary.
