Back in 2018, while exploring Italy, we sat outside a little café, sipping coffee and I remember saying, “Let’s take a photo here… I want a place like this one day.” (Okay, we’re not in Italy… but the dream started there!)

Fast forward to lockdown 2021, I opened Esse café in our old yoga studio. I served healthy, light Organic lunches in space that felt like home (because it once was!)

Then came a trip around Mexico for our honeymoon that filled me with flavour, inspiration, and a deep love for tacos (and margaritas!)

Mike continued to work his Job and in his spare time helped me host a few supper clubs. They were such a success it honestly blew my mind. That led to hosting a wedding celebration, Christmas parties, birthday gatherings, (a few personal parties!) all alongside my favourite thing, cooking tasty, light lunches day to day.

Fast forward a few more years… in 2025 we welcomed our little boy, Leo. Mike left his job, set up his own business and we had also planned to open our own café. Maybe we didn’t realise having a baby takes up pretty much all of your time 🤣

So here we are in 2026. Leo is now 6 months old. We’ve started renovating a new space (location still at Esse) but at the front this time and we’re hoping to open the doors to our new café soon (date pending).
